found a plot bunny i forgot about on LJ. Jareth takes Harry, the rest are out to save him, but does he want to be saved? Could be Jareth taking Harry as a child then Dumbledore panicking when they can't find him come Hogwarts time, or maybe an older Harry gets wished away by Dudley or Vernon and everybody has to scramble to rescue him. Either way, Harry's in this new world where he's not the boy-who-lived and there's still magic and creatures, but a lot less of them are trying to kill him, and a castle with crazy stairs to navigate, and this Jareth guy is pretty neat too.
